How to master the basics of editing interiors for real estate?

To begin the tutorial of editing an interior real estate photograph, always ensure that the photo is bright enough. Avoid eliminating the photo’s deep, dark shadows. Also, the windows should be well-exposed, high in contrast, and vibrant.

If there is a house outside the window, it's best to leave it lower in contrast. It is also essential to be consistent in terms of white balance and temperature. As much as possible, the colors of the appliances and pieces of furniture must look natural. Color casting should be limited to avoid the exterior and interior lights coming into the home through the windows.

Good contrast must also be considered. The photo’s darker elements must remain dark and creamy even after brightening the walls and other picture areas.

The elements of the photograph that are initially colorful should stay vibrant. They should also have the correct temperature, especially the wood floors, walls, decorative items, and furniture pieces.

Lastly, make sure that the photographs look real and convincing. Even though the picture needs to look very bright, vibrant, and contrasted, it shouldn’t look unrealistic because of overcoloring, overexposing, or oversaturating.

Lastly, and this may be the most important thing to consider, make sure the photographs look real and convincing.

You will be editing the original real estate photographs quite a bit, and if you're not careful with your edits, you can make the end product looks fake and unrealistic.

Even though we want the photograph looking very bright, vibrant, and contrasted. You don't want the photo to look unrealistic by overcoloring, overexposing, or oversaturating it.
